Focus Paragraph

From growing up as a normal child not used to being abused and treated like a dog, to being caged and treated like she was nothing Jane Stafford killed her very abusive husband. When I first got the book I had no clue on who Jane Stafford was and I didn’t think that this book would interest me. When I started off reading it I learned about Jane’s child hood which was kind of similar to mine with the abuse and alcohol. I learned that Jane was like the mother for her younger sisters just like I was for my younger brothers. Jane is considered a hero to some people and not a murderer at all. I read about how Jane’s life changes and went from being treated like angel to being treated like an animal who was nothing in the world. Jane’s life was a living hell when she had Billy’s child. At the start of their relationship Billy was everything Jane wanted but as soon as she got pregnant with his baby that’s when she realized Billy was something different and her life wouldn’t be the same. I was surprised that Jane ended up killing Billy, I thought she would just leave him and move her family some where Billy couldn’t find them or charge him, but she did what she had to do to keep her family and herself safe from a man who thought he was Satan. Jane later on got re-married to a man who treated her with the respect she need and deserved. Later on Jane ended up killing her self because she couldn’t stand to live anymore, because of all the horrible things Billy put her through it hunted her and she couldn’t take being alive much longer.

what happend after jail

• Jane got married again and her life was the best it could be
• she was never abused again
• After awhile Jane couldnt take it anymore and had bad flash backs of Billy and the beating so Jane killed her self
• Today Jane is still a hero to alot of women who are being beat and have saved alot form the book Life with Billy, she will be a hero to many more people who read this book

Billys body is found

• A man was driving into town and saw Billy's truck on the side of the road so he looks in the window and finds Billy's body
• He drives to the closest house and calls the police
• They reconize who it was right away and go down to Billy's house to ask Jane questions
• When they tell Janes she faints and is brought into the house
• Jane is questioned and is acused with first dagree murder but only stays in jail for 6 months
• Lots of people concider Jane a hero because she stopped the abuse and did what she had to do so that it would stop
• The police didnt think that she shouldnt have gone to jail

Jane finally has enough

• Jane turns in to a robot which is very common for women who are beaing abused by their husbands
• Billy always has Jane drive him and his friends to and from bars or parties but doesnt allow her out of the car
• From being punched in the face all the time and abused like crazy jane relizes she has to end it all
• If she leaves Billy would find her and her family and kill them
• The only way Jane could end this madness of abused is to kill Billy
• Jane had took Billy and his friends to a bar and then drives them back to the house
• Billy is passed out in the passangers seat and his friends go inside the house
• Jane isnt allowed to get out of the car untill Billy wakes up if she does he would beat her
• So Jane honks the horn hoping that she doesnt wake Billy but also to get her older sons attention
• darren hears the horn bu thinks that Billy is just beating his mom so he ignores it, but Jane keeps on honking it
• darren gos out and Jane tells him to get one of Billys guns, a towel and extra cloths, darren does as he is told
• Jane receaves the things she asked for and then tells him to go back inside
• Jane takes the gun and waits for darren to go inside, when he is she just looks at Billy and shoots him in the head
• Jane gets blood everywhere so she changes and cleans up a little
• She calls darren back out side and tells him to take the gun and cloths and take them down to one of Janes friends hosue and he will know what to do with it
• Jane then drives out to the road with Billy in the car and just leaves him there but instead of leaving him in the passangers seat she puts him in the drives seat
• Mean while darren and his mothers friend had thrown the gun and cloths into the river

Billy Abuses the children

• Billy would make his children in the past and with his knew children eat cigeret buts
• He would also put out the smokes on there arms
• If the kids cryed he would beat them. So they never cry even when they do get beat
• He made his little son eat his puke with the un finished food that he couldnt eat
• He tied his daughter from one of his earlyer marragies on a leash out side and beat her till she stopped moving and the snow was filled with blood
• He always beat his children for no reason and wouldnt allow the mothers to go and see then when he was done

When Billy goes on his work trips

• Billy finally gets a new job on a boat where he leave for 2-3 weeks


• When Billy Leave Jane can losen up a little but she still cant go out becuase Billy would find out and beat her


• When Billy goes away he would buy weird underwear for Jane


• If Jane is sleeping he would burst into the room pull herby her hair run bath water wash her and then stick her in some trype of underware he brought back and would make her do painfull sexual actions
• Billy would perposly bed wrough in bed just to hurt Jane
  

Jane's Life Gets Worse part 2

• Billys friend Grant also getts abuse by Billy


• Grants feels sorry for Jane and her children


• Jane learns that Grant's wife lift him because of the abuse


• When Billy and Jane have friends over Billy always ends up beating them or getting into an arugement


• Billy would be a nice guy one moment but then turn crazy just like that


• Billy made his son Allen who was 2-3 years old try and finish is dinner at the same time as him and if he didnt then Billy would shovel it into his mouth


• When Allen threw up becuase of this Billy would just scrap the puke into the food and would feed it to him untill it was all gone


• Jane has to work because Billy got fired for his job


• Billy starts to harasse Jane about paying him back for his car that she crashed
• Jane is only allowed to go to work and then home
• Billy doesnt allow Jane or the children to go out to a movie or resterants
• The only time Jane getts to have by her self and when she is at work
• Billy would have drinking buddies come over and thats the only time Jane gets to socalise with other people
• Billy is very Jeliouse so he does not allow Jane to look or talk to other men

Her life gets worse

• Jane and Billy are kicked out of there house in Bang Falls


• Billy has company over when he leaves Billy beats Jane


• Billy starts to beat their little boy


• Every time Billy beats Jane he blames it on her


• Jane starts to believe that the reason why he beats her is because she is doing something wrong even though she isn't


• Jan's son from her first marriage comes to live with them
• Jane doesn't want her son to go threw what his mother and brother are going threw with Billy
  
• Dan learns to do what billy says because if he doesn't Billy will beat him


• Billy has a friend come and stay with them. He is also an alcoholic and use to beat his wife before she left him

Jane's Life with Billy #1

• Jane's and Billy's life at the begining was like a dream come true for Jane
• They where very happy and much in love
• Jane thought that her life was going to be way better than her first marrage
• Jane takes birth control because she is told that she shouldnt have anymore children
• Billy and Jane move in to a house in Bang Falls Nova Scotia
• Billy finds out and throws them away
• Jane gets pregant
• When Billy finds out he starts to change mentally
• Billy starts to drink and calls Jane names
• Billy starts to hit Jane and blame it on her
• Jane is told she is no good anymore and is called old women by Billy

Jane's life with Marty

• Jane wanted to get out of the life she had at the moment so she left with some of her parents friends to Nova Scotia


• she moves in with her grandmother who she calls gramma Mill


• When she is living there she meets a man names Marty


• Marty is a caring and sweet guy, and she needs someone to fill the hole in her life


• She starts to see Marty, and Jane's becomes pregnant with his child


• Marty marries Jane because she is pregnant


• Marty doesn't go to see Jane while she is in the hospital


• she ends up having a boy and names him


• After awhile Marty starts ti drink and starts to swear at Jane and not help out with their son
  
• Jane goes to see her family in Winnipeg with her


• when she gets back from her visit there are Pictures of Marty with another women in their bed


• Marty was drinking more and not coming home at times


• she told Marty that it was her and the boys or the bottle(whisky) he choices the bottle
• Jane leaves Marty and takes her son with her
• Marty gets custody over their son Allen
• Jane goes to a friends place and meets Billy

Janes Earl years as a child part 2

• Jane was very athletic and won banners and trophies in Track and Field during her stay in Germany
• Jane's fathers brother came down to see them and later on joined the army
• Jane looked up to James as an older brother
• One day when she came back from school Jane saw her mother in bed, she was hot and there was blood everywhere
• Jane's mother had a tubal pregnancy and had lost a lot of blood, she might not live threw the night
• Jane's father never laid another hand on her mother after that
• Jane was 15 when her family left Germany, during her last 8 months overseas she had a boyfriend names Joe who was also in the army
• Her father didn't allow her to date Joe but she did anyways and was very much in love with him
• On her birthday Joe threw a little party for her and gave her a delicate watch witch she cherished very much
• she told her mother but was told not to tell her father, right then her father came storming and asked what she gave him in return for the watch
• Jane's father then grounded her for the last 2 weeks they had in Germany so that she couldn't see Joe anymore

Jane Stafford during her early years as a child

• Jane Hurshman was born January 25 ,1949.
• When the out break of the Karean War happend Jane's father joined the Canadian Army.
• Her father served thirteen month and six month stints befor comeing back home for good.
• Because Janes father wanted to stay with the army he dicided to be a cook.
• Jane mother had two more children in 1953.
• May 1954 Jane and her family where transferred to the base in Truto in north- central Nova Scotia.
• She met a girl named Valery who's family was also transferred to Truto
• Her friend Valery's family was sent to a base in Germany
• After awhile her family was also sent thereher family stayed in Germany for 3 and a half years witch gave Jane a chance to go to school from grade 7-9

Who I think she and he is?

Jane Stafford was one of three wives that was abused by Billy Stafford. She grew up with 2 younger sisters and a brother. Her father was drafted to the army so she and her family moved around a lot. Her father became a drunk and abusive towards her mother. She was a great student always getting As. Her family was transferred to a base in Germany. Jane was married twice once to a guy named Marty who cheated on her and she has two children that are his, she left him and met Billy. Jane then married him things were great at first but then he got abusive. She had a children with him. Billy Got more abusive each day. He abused her so much that she finally had enough and killed him when he was past out in his truck. I think that Jane is a hero for some women and for me in a little way.

Billy Stafford is a man that has had three wives he beat all of them to the point that they ended up in the hospital at least once. He was a bully ever since he was old enough. he beat his father at times and would torture his children by putting out cigarettes on there arms or throwing knifes at one of his daughter's to see if he get them to stick around the out side of her body. Over all i just think that Billy got what was coming for him and deserves to be dead.
